Dear Delegates,
My name is Omar Noureldin (SFS '10) and I am a Science, Technology, and International Affairs major from __________. When asked, 'Where are you from?' I always have a long, complicated response: 'California, Egypt, Saudi Arabia…I don't know?'
This will be my third NCSC, I have previously served as a committee Director and USG, so I'm excited to finally be a Chair. Over the past 6 months Pakistan has seen everything from Supreme Court Justices being expelled, a state of emergency, and seemingly free and fair elections. Pakistan is a country filled with a diversity and a rich political system--it will be a committee goal to accurately represent the vast geo-political dynamics of the region.
This committee is the National Command Athourity (NCA). The NCA is the Pakistani organisation in charge of policy formulation, and has the autonomy to exercise the employment and developmental control over all nuclear forces and strategic organizations. The NCA has the mandate to make strategic decisions without parliamentary approval. This committee will look closely at a number of issues regarding Pakistani security and internal stability.
I am also the Executive Director of Georgetown's High School Model UN conference: NAIMUN, the largest high school MUN conference in the Americas. Outside of NCSC and NAIMUN I am also involved with the Muslim Students Association, serve as Treasurer of Students for Justice in Palestine, and I am a member of the Corp Board of Directors--the largest student run corporation in the world. When not researching at the Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding, I am usually tucked away in a corner of the library
I look forward to working with all of you and please contact me if you have any questions
Hoya Saxa,
Omar Noureldin
