Philanthropy is at the core of NCSC's mission. It represents an opportunity to link thought and action with positive change--to think and act globally.

With that goal in mind, NCSC is excited to once again run a reinvigorated, committee-based philanthropic effort: The NCSC Charity Challenge. An inter-committee fundraising competition, the Charity Challenge will unite delegates and staff alike as the NCSC community fundraises for causes tied to the conference's regional, topical, and institutional foci. Introduced at NCSC 38, the Charity Challenge raised about $5000 for Seeds of Peace and $2,500 at NCSC 39.

This year, the selection of NCSC's official charity is in your hands. Each dias will nominate a charity of choice salient to their simulation, and at the end of the weekend, the per-capita total will be calculated for each committee. There will be a first and second place winner. The committee which raises the most per capita throughout the weekend will earn the right to donate 70% of the entire conference's fundraising pool to their chosen cause. The charity chosen by the second place committee will receive 30% of the total funds raised. Individual nominations will be listed on the committee pages in the near future.

It is NCSC's hope that delegates and staffers will find meaningful unity through this friendly division, vying for missions linked to the very issues they debate on the committee floor. Though only two charities will be selected when the counting ends, all of the causes are to be admired and supported.
