Important Dates and Deadlines

April 1st - May 19th: Priority Registration

May 20th - August 21st: Regular Registration

August 22nd - September 30th: Late Registration

September 30th: Delegate Withdrawal Deadline (For Full Refund)

October 6th: Final Payment Deadline

Early October: Distribution of Committee Assignments

October 10th: Delegation Withdrawal Deadline (For Partial Refund)

October 15th: Final Roster Due

Submission of Registration

Once you have registered, we will send an invoice within 15 business days. Payment is due on the date listed on the invoice (one month from the date the invoice is sent).

If you would like to request an extension due to extenuating circumstances or do not receive confirmation, please email please email ncscreg@modelun.org.

Fulfillment of Payment

Delegations may pay for the conference either by credit card via Paypal or by check.

1. Credit Card (highly preferred):

   • Payment by Credit Card will occur via PayPal invoice.

   • Please note that there is an additional 4% service fee to delegations that choose to pay by this method.

2. Check:

   • Please make all checks out to the “Georgetown International Relations Association Inc.”

Drops and Refunds

• Delegate Drops: In the event that a delegation must drop individual delegates that have already been registered, the delegation may claim a refund in accordance with the following timeline:

  • April 1st - September 30th: Spot(s) may be released with no penalty. The delegation will receive a full refund for the delegate fee(s) of the dropped delegate(s).

  • September 30th - October 10th: No refund may be issued. The delegation will be responsible for paying the delegate fee(s) of the dropped delegate(s).

• Delegation Withdrawal: If a delegation chooses to fully withdraw from the conference, the delegation may claim a refund in accordance with the following timeline:

  • April 1st - September 30th: Full refund of total payment. 

  • September 30th - October 10th: 50% refund on total payment.

  • October 10th - October 31st: No refund may be issued. The delegation is responsible for paying 100% of their registration fees.

All requests for refunds must be directed to the Executive Director, Cynthia Lu, at c.lu@modelun.org or ncscreg@modelun.org.

Hotel Policy

Participating delegations will receive within the coming months a link to book their hotel rooms at the Washington Hilton. The Washington Hilton is located in the heart of Dupont Circle is within walking distance to numerous shops and restaurants, embassies, and monuments.

• Delegations who plan to stay in hotels other than the Washington Hilton will be charged a fee of $150 per school per night.

• This fee will be waived, however, if the Washington Hilton reaches capacity. Questions about this policy can be directed to ncscreg@modelun.org.

Position Assignment Policy

• Schools will not receive their committee and position assignments until we have received all conference fees or we have confirmation that a school funding board has approved a request for payment.

Delegation Size

There is no minimum or maximum delegation size for individual awards. Large and small delegations will be categorized according to the average delegation size of delegations once conference check-in is complete with six delegates being the minimum number of delegates to be considered for a delegation award. For a current estimate of the cap for the small delegation category, please email ncscreg@modelun.org.

International Delegations

The National Collegiate Security Conference believes that international issues require international solutions, and therefore encourages all international delegations to register for NCSC LII. We are excited to expand accessibility to our high-caliber committees to delegates from all around the world. If your delegation is interested in attending NCSC, please fill out the registration form. NCSC’s Executive Director and Director of Delegate Affairs will be able to work with your delegation through any concerns about travel restrictions.

We are also excited to begin offering individual delegate registration. If you are looking to compete at NCSC LII but your school does not have a competitive team, we are happy to welcome you to NCSC LII as an individual delegate. Please reach out to ncscreg@modelun.org with any questions.
