Washington, DC

Welcome!

On behalf of the Georgetown International Relations Association, Inc and the Georgetown community as a whole we are proud to extend to you a warm invitation to the 37th Annual National Collegiate Security Conference! To be held over Columbus Day Weekend 2009 (October 8-11, 2009) at the Georgetown University Hotel & Conference Center, NCSC XXXVII promises to build on the successful and storied history of past conferences.

Our aim is to provide delegates with the most complete substantive and social Model United Nations experience they’ve ever encountered. NCSC strives to encapsulate the perfect amalgamation of in-committee debate, guest speakers, embassy visits, and of course delegate social events into the late-night hours. Our unique location in the heart of the nation’s capital allows for us to give delegates access to a breadth of speakers and institutions, from foreign ambassadors, to military leaders, to intergovernmental organizations.

In addition to our stellar location, the intimate size of NCSC can be counted as one of its largest attributes. Attracting roughly 500 delegates from over 25 colleges and universities to participate in its 19 committees, NCSC boasts some of the most realistic, fast-paced, and interactive simulations on the Model UN circuit. In addition to the actual composition of our committees, we pride ourselves on our dedicated general staff, nearly all of whom have prior Model UN experience, giving the conference one of the highest staff to delegate ratios. All of these factors have combined over the years to give NCSC a reputation of true substantive excellence.

Outside of committee, NCSC is proud to provide delegates with two nights of events catered to their entertainment and enjoyment. Our location in the historic Georgetown neighborhood also gives delegates the ability to explore some of the finest shopping and dining that Washington DC has to offer.

If you’re interested in the complete Model UN experience, there is no doubt that NCSC is for you! As we count down the weeks until October please take a chance to explore the committees and information provided on our website. To express interest in bringing a delegation we encourage you to use the “Register” link at the top right.

We look forward to working with you in the coming months in preparation for NCSC XXXVII, and hope that you are just as excited as we are about the upcoming 2009-2010 Model United Nations season!

Sincerely,

Mike McGrath
