Our Secretariat

Our incredible 12-person Secretariat works tirelessly to put on NCSC each year.

Our 6 Substantive-Side members work under SG Kevin Piraino, creating all Model-UN related content and working closely with our staff.

Our 6 Executive-Side members work under ED Cynthia Lu, putting together all logistical needs for NCSC… from pens to club night to the hotel contract.

Our secretariat is so excited to welcome everyone to D.C.!

Substantive Side

  • Wisteria Hu (she/her) is in the Walsh School of Foreign Service’s class of 2027, intending to major in Science, Technology, and International Affairs, possibly minoring in Economics with a certificate in International Business Diplomacy. She went to highschool in Sydney, Australia where she competed in Model UN, but she was born in Beijing and spent some years in Belgium. She also competed as a delegate for Georgetown’s team, but she refuses to do non-GA committees. Outside of Model UN, Wisteria is part of Hilltop Consultants, and she serves on the professional development board of the Academic Council (but she hates the word “networking” – it will shiver her timbers). She also interviews experts and public figures for Georgetown’s flagship Journal of International Affairs (subscribe now!). When she’s not working, she spends hours in the National Gallery of Art, is probably hitting legs at the gym, or is eating out at new restaurants with her friends. She is obsessed with cheese and it is becoming a medical problem. If you see her around, ask her about her failed Olympic career in figure skating. She is so excited to be the USG of Assemblies and Summits, which in her opinion is objectively the best format of MUN!

  • Caroline Dupas is a member of Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service’s class of 2027 studying International Politics with a concentration in International Law. She is from the objectively best state—New York—and misses the amazing bagels, but definitely not the weather. Caroline has been passionate about Model United Nations since her freshman year of high school and currently travels with Georgetown’s Model UN team. She has also enjoyed staffing NAIMUN LXI and NCSC LI this year. Outside of Model UN, Caroline is a member of the Georgetown Caravel, GU Votes, and teaches swimming lessons to kids in DC. She also is a proud stan of reality TV (the Bachelor, Survivor, Dance Moms), the Cheesecake Factory, small dogs, and the NYT Connections. Her hot take is that it should be socially acceptable to wear goggles in the pool. She also loves exploring DC, shopping, and hanging out with friends! Caroline is so excited to serve as Under Secretary General of Councils and Boards and welcome everyone to NCSC!

  • Anna Kelly is a member of the College of Arts and Sciences class of 2027, with an intended major in Computer Science and Government. If you ask Anna where she’s from, she’ll say Boston, Massachusetts… unless you are from Boston, in which case she will frantically say she’s from the suburbs. Anna’s suburban town (Scituate) raised her to be an avid Boston sports fan—or at least act like one. She is very skilled in pretending she knows more than just Tom Brady and Bill Belichick when it comes to the Patriots (and even that one doesn’t work anymore). While Anna loves Model UN, she promises she has other interests too: she volunteers weekly at a local prison and learns about space policy and technology with the on-campus space club. Beyond the grind of school and clubs, you will find Anna over-caffeinating at a coffee shop, watching a Studio Ghibli film, or listening to her artist of the week (currently, Grimes—pre-Elon, she is remarkable!). NCSC LII is going to be out of this world, and Anna is over-the-moon to be your USG of Cabinets!

  • Cynthia Gudaitis (she/her) is a member of Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service class of 2027. She is originally from Brooklyn, New York, but proudly calls Hilton Head Island, South Carolina home, where she lives just a short run away from the ocean. In high school, she found a love for running, music, and Model UN, all of which she is happy to be continuing in college. At Georgetown, Cynthia has enjoyed competing on the collegiate circuit with Georgetown’s traveling MUN team, running (and arguing about track superiority over cross country) with Georgetown Running Club, and singing for Georgetown Music Ministry in the chapel choir. In her limited free time, Cynthia loves to play piano and guitar, practice calligraphy and doodle in her bullet journal while listening (more accurately, singing along) to music. Her current listens include Taylor Swift, Noah Kahan, Vampire Weekend, In the Heights, Hamilton, (yes, she admittedly never grew out of the Broadway phase), and so much more! Cynthia is thrilled to serve as Under-Secretary General of Regionals and is counting down the days to NCSC LII!

  • Annabelle Kim is in College of Arts and Sciences, class of 2027, planning on enrolling in the inaugural Public Policy major with a potential minor in Education, Inquiry, and Justice. She’s from the San Francisco Bay Area–Pleasanton, CA to be specific. In high school, she competed in Model UN, worked on the school board, and volunteered with (read: was bullied by) small children, which grew her interest in educational policy. At Georgetown, Annabelle is involved in Georgetown MUN’s travel team, The Hoya student newspaper, Jumpstart for Kids, staffing, and educational research. By the other USGs, she was described as perfect for the role because she is “non-traditional” – a description she isn’t sure is a compliment or an insult. When not staring at a small or medium screen, Annabelle occupies her time knitting, embroidering, antiquing, watching sci-fi, curating Spotify playlist, and paying a lot for artisan coffee (yay low price elasticity of demand!). Annabelle cannot wait for NCSC LII and to meet the newest guinea pigs of the Non-Traditional Organ.

  • Michelle Giovinazzo is a member of Georgetown College class of 2027, studying the interdisciplinary major of Computer Science, Ethics, and Society and minoring in Spanish. She grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area where her high school life was defined by public speaking – NSDA speech and debate, mock trial, model UN, and a sketch comedy club called Goats of Denmark. At Georgetown, she has loved competing on the collegiate circuit with GUMUN (especially causing chaos in fictional crisis committees). She also enjoyed staffing NCSC LI and its sister conference NAIMUN LXI. Beyond MUN, she is also involved in Hoya Developers and club boxing on campus. Her hobbies include coding / playing video games, an addiction to Starbucks, and being obsessed with murderous fiction (the Hunger Games, the Arrow, the Boys, etc). Michelle is excited to serve as USG of JCCs for NCSC LII!

Executive Side

  • Victoria Schmidt (she/her) is a member of the Walsh School of Foreign Service’s class of 2027, intending on majoring in International Economics and minoring in Math. She grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where she got involved in Model UN in middle school. She loved discussing international issues, and later became involved in running a local high school conference aimed at training younger delegates. At Georgetown, Victoria competes on team GUMUN and is involved with DC Schools Project and the fencing club. In her free time, she loves trying new coffee and boba shops, exploring thrift stores and vintage shops, and going on to art museums. She cannot wait to meet everyone involved in NCSC as Director of Delegate Affairs.

  • Kiera Shinoda Foley (she/her) is a member of Georgetown College’s Class of 2027, intending to major in International Business, Language, & Culture: Spanish. Though the majority of her relatives reside in Japan and the UK, Kiera has lived in Sammamish, Washington (aka “a suburb east of Seattle”) her whole life and has yet to visit either. She’s a language lover through and through who would opt to call herself interdisciplinary rather than indecisive when it comes to exploring her other interests in business, international relations, linguistics, and computer science (only time will tell what her minor will end up being). An undercover ex-DECA kid, Kiera was successfully converted to Model UN at Georgetown first by GIRA Global as their China Program Lead, serving as the Secretary-General for NAIMUN China VI and the Executive Director of this year’s Georgetown Future Shapers Challenge. Outside of MUN, she works with nonprofits in developing nations through Georgetown Global Consulting and is a part of the Hager Scholars Program. When she’s not advising her friends on bolstering their LinkedIns or skin care best practices, you can find her listening to Bollywood hits and Bad Bunny at ungodly volumes, exclusively buying pink items, hitting the pool at Yates, or attempting to expand beyond her Romance language horizons (most recently, with Basque).

  • Valli Pendyala (they/them) is a member of the Class of 2027 in the Walsh School of Foreign Service, planning to major in Regional & Comparative Studies in Southwest Asia and North Africa and minoring in Arabic and Religion, Ethics and World Affairs. They are originally from Connecticut and competed in Model UN conferences in the New England area, including Harvard and Yale Model UN, which led to them coming to Georgetown in the first place. At Georgetown, Valli is on the advocacy team for GUPride, writes for the Middle East and Central Asia section of the Caravel, and is generally over-committed to everything. Aside from staffing both NCSC and NAIMUN in the past, they have also been the Director of Operations for DistrictMUN, Georgetown’s middle school conference. In their free time, they enjoy collecting recipes, getting far too obsessed with characters in books and TV shows, and eating at new and exciting restaurants. They cannot wait to welcome you to Washington, DC and look forward to serving as your Director of Operations!

  • Kate Satterfield (she/her) is a member of the Walsh School of Foreign Service’s class of 2027 studying Science, Technology and International Affairs with a concentration in Energy and Environment. She is an avid STEM subject hater and you will never catch her taking another math class again, though she is thinking of minoring in Environmental Science (which is NOT hypocritical). She is from Orlando, Florida (yes, she has been to Disney and yes, Florida Man is real) and her first MUN experience was competing for team GUMUN in the ‘23 fall semester. She was coerced into staffing both NCSC LI and NAIMUN and found that staffing MUN conferences was her true calling. Outside of MUN, Kate is involved in Georgetown Moot Court, the Georgetown University Student Association, and The Voice, one of Georgetown’s newspaper publications. Outside of her school obligations, you can probably find Kate curled up on her tiny dorm bed reading a good (maybe trashy…) book with ample cheese and crackers at the ready. When not reading or cramming for an exam, Kate loves to spend her free time cooking vegetarian dishes, pretending to like going to the gym, exploring DC, and generally spending time outdoors. She is so excited to welcome all of you to DC for the best NCSC ever!

  • Aria Zhu (she/her) is a member of the class of 2027 in Georgetown’s College of Arts and Sciences, studying English and Government. She is from Shanghai, China, and stumbled upon Model UN during her first year at Georgetown, wherein she served on the Chief of Staff Team at NCSC LI and on the Logistics & Security team during NAIMUN LXI, NCSC’s sister conference. Outside of Model UN, Aria is an Assistant Design Editor for The Hoya, Georgetown’s newspaper. In her free time, Aria likes to knit, crochet, take naps, give her money to overpriced coffee shops in Georgetown, and watch TV shows – her favorites are Veep and Fleabag. Staffing MUN conferences have been one of Aria’s favorite Georgetown experiences so far. She is so excited to meet everyone and make NCSC LII the best conference yet!

  • Saki Saito (she/her) is a member of Georgetown College’s Class of 2027, majoring in Economics and Computer Science, minoring in Spanish. She is from Tokyo, Japan but grew up mostly in the Philippines (and a little in Vietnam) which she considers her ‘home’. She had her first MUN experience during her freshman year at Georgetown, where she was encouraged – or maybe dragged in – by her friends to staff for NCSC LI. Having enjoyed her time as a member of the Chief of Staff Team, she then decided to staff for NAIMUN as well where she served as the director for ECLAC (Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean). Aside from MUN, she is involved with Club Filipino as a board member and loves connecting back to the culture she grew up in. During her free time, you can catch her watching a soccer game (probably Arsenal), thrifting around the DMV area, or just simply enjoying a bag of cheetos in her dorm with a movie. She is excited to share fun philanthropic events and delicious Candygrams with you all during NCSC LII!
