Meet our triumvirate.

NCSC’s Secretary-General and Executive Director serve as conference’s executives. Our SG, Kevin Piraino, leads all substantive, Model UN-related development. Our ED, Cynthia Lu, manages all logistical needs. Additionally, our Chief of Staff, Eilat Herman, ensures that staff are prepared and happy.

Together, this team is excited to put on the best NCSC yet.

Kevin Piraino, Secretary General

Kevin Piraino (he/him) is a member of Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service Class of 2026, studying International Politics with a concentration in Security Studies and a minor in Korean. He is from Long Island, New York, and terribly misses being able to go to the beach every day and enjoying good pizza.

Kevin has competed in and staffed Model UN conferences since high school. At Georgetown, he has had the honor of serving as both a member of the Georgetown Model United Nations Team’s Conferences Staff and as the Under-Secretary-General of Cabinets for NCSC LI.

Outside of Model UN, Kevin is a member of the Georgetown University Fencing Club, where he fences saber. Believe it or not, he sometimes even wins! In his almost non-existent free time, you can find Kevin spending an objectively concerning amount of time playing board games, a lesser but still problematic amount of time playing competitive video games, and reading an incredibly eclectic assortment of books (ask him about which ones at NCSC!). Kevin is incredibly excited to welcome delegates to the Hilton in D.C., and to provide an incredible weekend of Model UN for everyone to enjoy!

Cynthia Lu, Executive Director

Cynthia Lu (she/her) is a member of Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, studying Regional and Comparative Studies. She concentrates in East Asia with a minor in Chinese, and has also been learning Uyghur. Cynthia was introduced to Model UN during her freshman year at Georgetown — since then, she’s had the privilege of serving as a member of Georgetown Model United Nation’s Conferences Staff and as the Under-Secretary-General of Councils & Boards for NCSC LI.

Outside of Model UN, Cynthia is the President of Georgetown University Mock Trial, fueling the perpetual feud between the many public-speaking clubs on campus and begging the question… which student-run activity can Georgetown earn more gavels in? Additionally, Cynthia gives campus tours with the Blue & Gray Tour Guide society (catch her walking backward during NCSC) and is a member of Delta Phi Epsilon, a professional foreign service sorority.

In her free time, you can find Cynthia knitting, raving about em-dashes, and begging her mom for pictures of her cat. Cynthia is so very excited to welcome everyone to Washington, D.C. for what’s to be the best NCSC yet!

Eilat Herman, Chief of Staff

Eilat Herman (she/her) is in Georgetown College of Arts and Sciences’ class of 2026, studying Government and perpetually flipping between seven minors that definitely do not include economics.

Eilat has been involved in Model UN since high school, and had the honor of serving as the Under-Secretary-General of Non-Traditionals at both NCSC LI and NAIMUN LXI, NCSC’s sister conference. She has also served on the Conferences Staff of Georgetown’s competitive MUN team. As a result, her friends make fun of her for the number of acronyms she uses to describe her weekends.

Outside of Model UN, Eilat serves as the Co-President of Georgetown’s Moot Court team and writes a sports column for Georgetown’s school newspaper, The Hoya. She spends way too much of her limited free time watching baseball. Being from Montclair, New Jersey—a state towards which she will accept no criticism—Eilat is an avid New York Yankees fan. She will, therefore, be extremely grouchy at NCSC if the Yankees do not spend the weekend winning the World Series (She said this last year, too. Second time's the charm?) (Edit: ugh.). Eilat is always in search of quality gelato, and will be very appreciative if you give her recommendations. She is so excited to serve as the Chief of Staff for NCSC LII!
