The Ad-Hoc Committee of the Secretary-General

NOTE: Delegates in the Ad-Hoc will not receive the committee topic or background guide prior to first committee session on Thursday evening. 

The Ad-Hoc Committee of the Secretary-General is one of the most competitive Model UN committees on the collegiate circuit, and the pinnacle of NCSC LII’s crisis experience. The committee premise will remain confidential until the first committee session of the conference where the background guide will be distributed. Delegates will be challenged to develop unique strategies on the spot, engage in high caliber debate, and craft crises quickly and creatively.

Miranda Xiong is a member of the Class of 2025 in Georgetown University’s College of Arts and Sciences, hailing from northern Virginia and double majoring in classics and history with a concentration in the Middle East. She has competed on the collegiate circuit since her freshman year, having served previously as an Under-Secretary-General at NCSC 50 and more recently, Secretary-General of NCSC LI (with her co-exec, Ania!). Outside of Model UN, Miranda loves Game of Thrones, photography, emergency medical services, and NCAA volleyball. She can’t wait to chair this year’s Ad-Hoc committee and end her NCSC career on a high note! 

 

Ania Uzieblo is a member of the Georgetown College of Arts and Sciences Class of 2025, majoring in Economics, minoring in Religion, Ethics, & World Affairs, and Spanish. Ania tripped, fell, and landed (now competes) with GUMUN on the collegiate circuit. She served as the Executive Director of last year’s NCSC (with her co-exec, Miranda!). In her (non-existent) free time, you can catch Ania listening to reggaetón music or rewatching the LOTR and Hangover movie series. She also attempts to romanticize life in D.C. by going to random embassy events or reading in (over-priced) coffee shops. Ania could not be more excited to see everyone over Halloweekend! (P.S. Halloween is Ania’s favorite holiday)
